Cinimod Studio is looking for a creative lighting designer for their London studio to start immediately. The position will initially be a 3 month internship, and pending a successful outcome would ideally lead to permanent employment.

You will be involved in a variety of multi-disciplinary projects in which lighting will always play a central part. These will be a combination of live projects and job pitches. You should have prior experience in lighting design, and be knowledgeable in at least one major lighting sector (eg. Landscape lighting, LED technologies, etc.).

Our multi-disciplinary approach to projects requires a diverse range of skills in the studio, and the successful applicant(s) would be working under the instruction and supervision of one of the project managers, gaining an interesting insight to the way the studio is run as well as learning some design, electronics and technology skills.

Tasks will include providing assistance with:

· The preparation of lighting briefs, designs, proposals and specifications.

· Site visits for new projects, and discussing concepts with internal team.

· Providing on-going lighting supplier contact to maintain lighting library up-to-date

Candidate requirements

· Fluency in English

· Availability for a minimum of 3 months

· A strong lighting design portfolio

· Be resourceful and confident in speaking with lighting suppliers

· Have some knowledge of lighting control programming (eg. DMX, DALI, etc).

· Have an interest in participating in the creation of new control interfaces for lighting

· Some experience with a lighting design package (eg. Dialux, Relux, etc.)

· A talent for further computer software packages, including 2d/3d (Autocad/rhino/etc) and graphics software. Advanced Cinema 4D skills will be of particular benefit.

· Experience in electronics would be helpful but is not necessarily required.

· Be efficient with their time and be prepared to join an extremely fast-paced environment.

Job Terms

· The internship is unpaid although a daily allowance for travel and expenses will be provided.

· The position is available now, and preference will be given to candidates who immediately available.
