London Eye Election Mapping for Facebook

In the countdown to the 2015 General Election, Facebook presented their election data onto the Coca-Cola London Eye in the design of a colourful light pie chart produced by Bompas & Parr and programmed by Cinimod Studio.

Each night at 21:30 a different light show was displayed with a colour representing each parties level of discussion from the 52million interactions observed online. The bigger the conversation of a particular party was, the more it took over London’s iconic landmark and built a physical manifestation between social and political discussion.

The different light shows were as follows:

Friday 1st May: The main political parties discussed on Facebook

Saturday 2nd May: The main political parties discussed on Facebook by men

Sunday 3rd May: The main political parties discussed on Facebook by women

Monday 4th May: The top five election-related issues discussed on Facebook

Tuesday 5th May: The main political parties discussed on Facebook in Scotland

Wednesday 6th May: The main party political leaders discussed on Facebook

Thursday 7th May: Pre-Election Polls
